Cornwall has been my home now for 20 years. I live and work in the east of the county on the edge of Bodmin Moor, nestled inland and away from much of the Cornish holiday traffic!
Born and raised in the Peak district Moorland with plenty of free roaming gave me a deep connection with my natural surroundings, so fortunate to be able to explore and create, without schedule or time restraints, taking time to look closely and observe.
Love of wild flowers in my early years led to an interest in gardening and plants, I studied Horticulture at Duchy College Rosewarne in 2005 where I gained a general certificate in Horticulture Level 2 before going on to study Botanical Illustration at the Eden Project. In 2011 I achieved a South West Society of Botanical Artists Diploma and was awarded a bursary from them to help me further my studies. In 2012 I was accepted to exhibit at the RHS botanical art show in London and exhibited as part of a group in April 2013 with the South West Society of Botanical Artists, we were awarded a silver for our exhibit ‘Spots and Stripes’ . I exhibited solo at the RHS in 2015 and was awarded a Silver Gilt medal for my exhibition ‘The Nature of Nurture’.
